Food and Farms NOT Bullets and Bombs

"WHAT RIGHT HAVE YOU TO CRUSH MY PEOPLE, GRINDING THE FACES OF THE POOR INTO THE DUST?" Isaiah 3:14-15

The State's Oplan Bantay Laya 2 campaign has wreacked havoc in rural communities. In Northern Mindanao provinces, militarization and bombings have displaced families, oppressed farmers and Lumads, and traumatized women and children.

Military spending tops the government budget, as millions of peasants remain landless and hungry.

Let us call on the Arroyo government to stop the militarization campaign, indemnify its victims, and re-channel military budget to social services.

Togehter with the Rural Missionaries of the Philippines in Northern Mindanao Sub-Region, let us extend support to the plight of the poor farmers for a genuine agrarian reform that is free from the fascist military actions in the guise of development.

We call on our christian borthers and sisters to support the KASAMA-Bukidnon-KMP (Kahugpungan sa mga Mag-uuma sa BUkidnon, the OGYON (Organisasyon sa mga Yanong Obrerong Nagkahiusa!), the KASILO (Kaugalingong Sistema Igpasasindug tu Lumadnong Ogpaan).
