It was in the evening of Thursday when Jesus celebrated the passover meal that He instituted the Holy Eucharist. "with the bread He said, this is my body of the new covenant take, eat, do this to remember me." as for the cup of wine He said "drink this all of you... this is my blood... whenever you drink it do this to remember me." It was Jesus' Last Supper with His disciples.
The Washing of the Disciples Feet demonstrates the kind of leadership Jesus was having. He told us to the same.
